Cosqueville, France, July 1944 – Unit Soccer XI versus French XI
Cosqueville, France (21 km, 13 miles east of Cherbourg), July 1944 – Unit Soccer XI versus French XI. Hard to believe this photograph was taken barely a month after D-Day.
Eric Heathcote – “me” – wrote the names of the team players on the back of the photo, so they appear on top of their images if the picture is viewed against a bright light. Thus, Eric is standing on the far left of the photo.
