Norman Best – Photo – The Warriors Return

Peter Best writes: This photo shows my father and Ned (Hitchcock) on their return from France.

It is dated 4th July 1944. It is certainly their first pint back home! It was taken at a pub close to 60 Group Headquarters, Leighton Buzzard.

Interestingly, if you compare their uniforms, they are now an amalgam of RAF and US.

Ned is far left and my father is third from the right. (Incidentally, my mother is 4th from the right).
